Barcodes That Scan generates EAN-13, UPC-A, Code 128 and Code 39 barcodes, and QR codes for the design tools and platforms people actually use to make them. Every tool is free, works with no account, and runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded anywhere.
Why we built this
Most barcode generators tell you a symbol is valid and stop there. They don't say how small you can actually print it before a scanner stops reading it, and they don't say whether the number you generated is registered anywhere. Both of those are the questions that get a seller's listing rejected or a warehouse label returned. So we measured the first one ourselves, printing four formats at six sizes on a real laser printer and scanning every one with a phone camera, and we say plainly where the second one applies. The full method and results are on the barcode generator page.
What this site is not
This site is new. We don't have user counts, testimonials or years of traffic to point to, and we won't invent any. What we do have is a documented, reproducible test. The test sheet is a free download if you want to run it yourself and check our numbers.
Who runs this
Barcodes That Scan is run by Robert Wells, founder of Clear Signal Digital Ltd, and is funded by display advertising rather than by selling your data or gating the tools behind a signup.
