How do you generate a QR code from Chrome’s address bar?
Click the QR code icon at the right of the address bar, or use the share menu, and Chrome generates a code for the current page’s URL. It’s the fastest way to hand someone a link to exactly what’s on your screen, and you can download the result as a PNG directly from that panel.
When do you need something more than Chrome’s built-in option?
When the URL isn’t a page you’re on, or when you need the SVG, a specific size, or a different error-correction level. Chrome’s tool is fixed to the current tab and gives you a PNG at a fixed size; the generator below works for any URL or plain text and gives you both formats.
